PAUT Over Conventional RT — and Why
Phased array UT eliminated film processing, radiation exclusion zones, and single-angle blind spots. A 64-element linear array with encoded B-scan provided volumetric coverage in a single pass — no multiple film placements, no IQI recalculations per weld geometry change.
Zero Unplanned Shutdowns Post-Turnaround
Final disposition: 5 critical replacements, 8 monitored locations, 187 cleared. Unit returned to service on schedule. 18-month post-turnaround audit confirmed zero undetected corrosion failures.
